Thoughts on Promotion
Promotion makes his debut this afternoon in the 4.35 at Newbury (Saturday 18th September). Nicola Currie will be aboard the two year old colt in the seven furlong novice race. By Fast Company out of the sprinting mare Quiet Elegance, whilst a lot of the family are speed orientated there are a few who stay a bit further. Promotion will likely need this first racecourse experience, he is fairly laid back at home but should develop into a fun horse in time.
Of those with experience Koy Koy sets a decent standard and looks the one to beat. Ascending is probably next best and was beaten by a couple of very smart looking types on his second start.
Promotion runs in the colours of Tom Aspinall, in partnership with Julia Lukas. He will be led up by Lauren Webb tomorrow and overseen by Shaun Johnson, he is cared for at home by Michael Coles.
