Thoughts on Raimunda

Raimunda is making her seasonal debut in the 6.30pm at Kempton Park on Wednesday 10th April. Richard Kingscote will be in the saddle on this filly in the 1 mile handicap.

Raimunda is a scopey filly, hopefully the type to improve as a four year old. We’ve been happy with her homework this spring and are excited to see how she progresses back on track. As a racehorse trainer sometimes you have to know when to give a horse a bit of time. Her final run last season was some way below what we expected. She had an elevated temperature the following day so she was given time and had a nice break back at her owner breeder farm over the winter. Raimunda has a nice draw.

Raimunda

This race looks really competitive at the level. Raimunda is also taking on some race fit rivals. Hiromichi comes here off the back of a win in a similar race at Lingfield. Elladonna won a filly’s handicap on her fourth start over course and distance and looks the type to progress further. Lady of Arabia is very consistent at this level and comes here in solid form. Darwell Lion will appreciate the drop in class.

Raimunda runs for owners Gary & Lesley Middlebrook, who also bred the filly. She will be led up today by Sammy Barnett who rides and cares for her daily at home.
