Thoughts on Rampage
Rampage is our sole runner today (Saturday 30th of July). He runs at in the second division of a mile handicap, the 6.05 at Thirsk. Luke Morris rides the three year old gelding.
Rampage has developed with racing and should be more suited to this level of handicap than the maidens and novices he has run in to date. He should be fine on the easier going and the trip should be about right.
A fairly competitive looking handicap, May Punch has won at this level and was far from disgraced in better races since. Dropping back to this grade he warrants respect. Wheal Kitty returns to handicaps on a reduced mark having run in a couple of maidens recently. On a lower mark and a result in a slightly lower class of races she ought to be involved. Ba Na Hills has lost his way recently, but had shown enough form earlier in the season that if the first time blinkers are effective in rejuvenating him, he will be a danger. Time To Rumble was seven furlong winner in May but is yet to convince over a mile. Hoots Toots took a step forward in a first time tongue tie last time. The mark he was given looks generous on the basis of that performance, albeit the race was quite slowly run, so may have flattered him.
Rampage runs for owners David Blunt and Gary Middlebrook. He will be led up by Tamsin Karn.
