Thoughts on Reims

Reims makes her debut for the yard this afternoon in the 4:15 at Wolverhampton. Dylan Hogan is aboard the filly for the six furlong apprentice maiden handicap. The pair are drawn in stall 4. We are still learning about the filly, ideally we’d love to get her on turf but this race had a set of conditions that really seemed to suit and a lot of the opposition have a bit to prove.

Kaafy has been knocking on the door at this level and should be a major contender if able to overcome a difficult draw. Pretty Lady has bits of form that should see her being competitive. Improvement from Spring Campaign after just two runs would be no surprise. One Above has a tricky draw but ran as though the drop back to six would suit, in what was stronger looking race than this.

Reims is by Invincible Spirit, out of the Efisio mare, Riberac. The filly was bred and is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. Today, she will be led up by Ilse Belien.
