Thoughts on River Sprite

River Sprite runs in the 3.20 at Southwell. Adam McNamara rides the filly in the one mile handicap . This is River Sprite’s first go on Fibresand so it is a bit of an experiment, her dam won on dirt in the USA and that is often a pointer to horses that enjoy the surface, she’s also a big strong filly with plenty of size, the negative is she may not be particularly suited to how races are run around Southwell. Whether she handles the kick back is also a question mark.

Luscifer comes here in good form and looks the horse to beat, he does have to prove as effective over this trip as he is over seven furlongs but has some decent course form. General Joe is the best rated horse in the race and if he does handle the surface should be in the mix. Pearl of India is worth a second look on his first start for a new trainer with an excellent record at the track. She steps up in trip.

River Sprite will be led up by Alice Roberts today and overseen by Shaun Johnson. She races for the Diskovery Partnership a syndicate managed by Daniel & Claire. A new horse has just been launched a very well bred daughter of Havana Gold click here for more details
