Thoughts on River Sprite
River Sprite runs this afternoon in the 2.40 at Lingfield Park. Jack Mitchell is aboard the 4 year old filly for the first time in the ten furlong handicap and they are drawn in stall 5. River Sprite has ability and won nicely at Newcastle in the Autumn and ran a good second at Southwell since then but isn’t always consistent. She steps up to a mile and a quarter for the first time.

Arabescato has good recent form at this level and looks the one to beat. He does have a difficult draw. Similar can be said for Narjes. Globe Theatre is extremely well bred and has had a wind operation which could well help for new connections, who have their horses in very good form too. Restricted Access isn’t totally exposed and ran well in a first time visor last time out, stepping back up to a mile and a quarter for just the second time might see a career best.
River Sprite is by Swiss Spirit, out of the Forest Camp mare, Camp Riverside. She races for The Diskovery Partnership and owner breeder, Fiona Denniff. River Sprite will be led up today by Ilse Belien and overseen by Shaun Johnson.
