Thoughts on Rosaceous at Ffos Las tomorrow.
Rosaceous runs in the 4.00 at Ffos Las tomorrow (Sunday 15th September). Steve Drowne takes the ride in the mile and a quarter fillies handicap. Rosaceous has been given some tough assignments since breaking her maiden at Newbury over this distance earlier in the season. We have always liked her and she shows plenty of ability at home but is still quite green in her races, it took her a long time to understand what was required of her as a two year old and hopefully the more she races the better she will become. She can get a bit wound up in the preliminaries but we seem to be getting towards a routine that suits her and she is now very good in the stalls which were a concern early on in her career, she was foot perfect during a long loading process last time out. The softer going is an unknown but shouldn’t be a problem for her.
Its a difficult race to evaluate as it features a few horses that have been a bit disappointing recently chief amongst them Singersongwriter who ought to benefit from this step up in trip after being a beaten favourite on her last two starts, returning from a break and having had just three starts it would be no surprise to see a better showing from her. Playstreet is probably the pick of the field on her recent form and is proven on the ground and distance and she will make sure the form has some substance to it. Fatimah’s Gift steps up in grade and may have the improvement in her to be a threat.
