Thoughts on Rothay Park

One runner to start the week off, Rothay Park will line up in the 3.45pm contest at Lingfield, David Egan will be in the saddle.

Rothay Park ran his best race at the track. He steps up a furlong in distace today. He has a very good action and probably wasn’t suited to the slower surface at Chelmsford last time out. The bonus was that his handicap mark which looked on the high side for what he’d achieved was dropped. Allowing him to run at what seems a more realistic level. He doesn’t have a great draw.

Rothay Park

A group of three years olds who will be improving at different rates. Berrygate brings a solid last time out effort. Amanda returns from a break having progressed at 2. Although only 5th of 7 last time, that was a class 4 race and he was beaten less than two lenghts. Romanee is asked a new question up in trip on his handicap debut. Similar applies to the newly gelded Silver Trumpet. Irrelevent is a bit in and out but his best runs would put him bang there if he can overcome his wide draw. Bits and Bobs has regressed with current connections but will find his even at some point.

Rothay Park runs in the colours of owners and breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. He will be led up Shannon Pasotti who cares for him daily at home.
