Thoughts on Saturday’s Runners
Three runners on Saturday, two at Wolverhampton’s Premier meeting where the prize money is good for the level of racing. In the 3.50 Siempre Arturo makes his handicap debut under Jack Mitchell in the nine and half furlong race. At 6.10 Jack pairs up with Artcic Dawn in a seven novice with a decent prize. Over at Chelmsford Callum Hutchinson rides Elterwater in the ten furlong apprentice handicap.
Siempre Arturo
Siempre Arturo is a raw horse who has learned with each start, winning his maiden second time out. He was just touched off in a race run at farcical pace under a penalty, by a horse who has gone on and won since. He has a tricky draw to overcome. His mark looks fair on the ability he has shown us at home. The challenge he has is that he is very inexperienced compared to these race hardened rivals.

English Spirit won this race last year and has every chance of a repeat. Sense of Worth has solid recent form at this level including over course and distance and probably sets the standard. Harbour Vision won an amateur event over course and distance last time out and consistently gives his running. Sycamore Gap will almost certainly benefit from the jump up in trip based on his pedigree and is less exposed than the rest of the field.
Siempre Arturo races in the colours of Crowd Racing. They race in partnership with Siempre’s breeder Viv O’Sullivan. Siempre Arturo will be led up by Tamsin Karn.
Crowd Racing
Crowd Racing is a great club, offering a good ownership experience and this week an exciting two year old filly to race has arrived in the yard to in their colours. She is a half sister to Percy’s Lad who has won three times for us including when breaking the track record at Chester. He has run well at Royal Ascot in both the Hunt Cup and the Buckingham Palace Stakes. A dual winning two year old he was also Group 3 placed at 2.
Elterwater
Elterwater has been a bit of a disappointment as she has lovely big stride that really covers the ground and hasn’t quite shown on the course yet what she does at home. She feels a bit like a horse who once things fall into place can progress. She did a bit too much last time out over a mile and half and the drop back here will hopefully see her settle better.

Twilight Guest has been going close at this sort of level including his last two starts over course and distance. He sets the standard. Calcutta Dream will have his supporters but his good recent runners have been in slightly weaker races.
Elterwater runs in the colours of owner breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook. She will be led up Shannon Passotti.
Arctic Dawn
Arctic Dawn blew his chances giving away five lengths at the start last time out. Still inexperienced he finished the race off well to be second and should take a step forward here. The extra furlong could be an extra plus too. That’s something were interested to find out.

Rocking Tree had good form in Ireland and sets the standard. Great Chieftan looked a promising sort on debut at Newmarket in November and assuming normal progress is another who can be involved.
Arctic Dawn runs in the colours of owner breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook. He will be led up James Pulley who cares for him at home.
