Thoughts on Secret Acquisiton at Kempton Park Today
Secret Acquisition has her second run today (Monday 23rd of September) at Kempton Park Racecourse at 6.00pm. David Egan is in the irons for the 1 mile Novice Auction Stakes. The step up in trip should suit the filly who made a promising start to her career when second over seven furlongs. She is drawn wide today (12) which could prove a challenge.
On her debut, Secret Acquisition managed to get her nose just in front of Decanter, who she meets again today, and has shown promise for the increase in trip. Single and Rosario Senorita have shown a similar level of form. Single is the most interesting debutant.
The filly is by Sea the Moon, and out of a Galileo mare, Maria Letizia, who has produced a useful winner by Cape Cross, who is the grandsire of Sea the Moon. As Sea the Moon is by the Sea the Stars this also means that Secret Acquisition is inbred to the great Urban Sea.
Secret Acquisition is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook and was bred by Normandie Stud. The filly was purchased at Tattersalls Book 2 Yearling Sale.
Secret Acquisition is being led up by Andy Williams and overseen by Travelling Manager Shaun Johnson.
