Thoughts on Seneca Chief

Seneca Chief runs in the 8.50 at Windsor this evening (Monday, June 26th). George Downing rides in the five furlong handicap. Seneca Chief can probably count himself unlucky not to have won last time out when he got pushed out wide on the bend and finished with a rattle. He won his previous start very nicely and remains in good heart. This is his first run on turf, which shouldn’t be a problem but it will be a new experience for him. The race is also a slight step up in grade, which is merited on his recent performances and he should remain competitive.

These look a fairly evenly matched bunch and are on the whole still all improving and quite lightly raced, a case can be made for quite a few. Mercers probably sets the standard based on her recent fourth at Goodwood in a slightly better race.
