Thoughts on Seneca Chief
Seneca Chief runs in the 3.10 at Wolverhampton tomorrow afternoon (Monday March 6th). George Downing rides the three year old gelding in the six furlong maiden. Seneca Chief is having his second start following a solid enough debut over five furlongs at Chelmsford last month. He was the only unraced horse that evening and took a while to get the hang of things, but was slightly outpaced nonetheless. The extra furlong here should suit and he will know what is expected this time. He has come forward in his homework since that run. Long term he should keep progressing.
The field looks to have Prazeres and Trotter who finished a neck apart in a course and distance maiden a week ago to beat. Lostock is a tricky horse but his debut run as a two year old has worked out quite well, he will be better suited by the six furlongs than the five he encountered on his second start after a long absence ten days ago. The others will have to step up a fair bit on all form shown to date, while the debutante looks bred for longer distances.
