Thoughts on Silhouette at Nottingham and Dixie’s Double at Ffos Las tomorrow

Silhouette drops into maiden company in the 3.25 at Nottingham tomorrow (Thursday Jul 28th) with Tom Queally taking over in the saddle. The gelding has been running consistently in handicaps and can hopefully use his experience to his advantage.  He has a bit to find with likely favourite Torch who has been doing similar in slightly better handicaps. However one should never be afraid of one horse and unless one of the newcomers or lightly raced horses steps forward this might be the opening he has been looking for to get his head in front. The long home straight ought to suit.

Dixie’s Double makes her second trip to Wales after her promising debut at Chepstow a couple of weeks ago. Her assignment is over six furlongs in the 5.40 with Timmy Murphy doing the riding. Thammin looks the main danger after a couple of decent efforts however with the benefit of experience and the extra furlong likely to suit Dixie she ought to be in with a shout.
