Thoughts on Silhouette at Sandown tomorrow

Silhouette heads to Sandown tomorrow afternoon for the 4.10 (Thursday 21st of July). Regular pilot Timmy Murphy is in the saddle for the mile handicap for three year olds. Silhouette ran a solid race last time out over a mile at Chepstow finishing third, with first and second on the opposite side of the track. Not beaten far the handicapper has forced him to step up in grade. He is learning with racing and although to date his best runs have been on a straight track at least here the run is a long testing one.

Silhouette will have to take another step forward to be competitive in this open looking race. Plenty come here with a chance and cases could be argued for quite a few, tactics and the way the race pans out could play a big part. Jiminez has run well in better company and some of that form looks very good and is a rival to take seriously, likewise Dream of Summer will find this easier than some of the race he has contested recently. Furiant won a weaker contest last time out and that was his first go at this sort of distance so he must enter into calculations and its worth noting the time of that race was good. Cooperess seemed to find quite a bit of improvement when winning over seven furlongs at Sandown last week, if she returns with a performance like that she warrants respect.
