Thoughts on Sognatore
Sognatore heads to Nottingham for the 5.45 for his turf debut this evening (Saturday 17th of April). Adam McNamara will ride the three year old in the 10 furlong handicap. He wears a hood for the first time to help him settle as he has ruined his chances a couple of times recently by being a bit keen.
An open looking three year old handicap featuring three last time out winners who all warrant respect in Eagles Dare, Corbulo and Artisan Bleu. Handicap debutant Red Glory looks bred to be suited by this distance having run exclusively over seven furlongs at two. Kalma took step forward on her first start as a three year old last time and looks as if the extra distance here will be ideal for her. Scots Gold showed mixed form at two but his best run was on a faster surface which he gets this evening and he showed more than enough ability at two to suggest he would be winning races at this sort of level.
Sognatore races for Capture the Moment and Crowd Racing. He will be led up by Epona Miller and overseen by yard manager Lauren Webb this evening.
