Thoughts on Solent Meads and Passing Star at Wolverhampton this evening

Solent Meads and Passing Star take each other on in the 8.15 at Wolverhampton this evening. George Downing has chosen to ride Solent Meads, a horse he has a good rapport with and Luke Morris will be on board Passing Star. There isn’t much between the pair and a lot will come down to how the race pans out. Passing Star enjoys passing horses so a strong pace will suit him and a lot of Solent Meads best runs have come from being near to the pace. If they go steady it will suit Solent Meads if they go quick then Passing Star will be at an advantage. Both have won this season and it would be nice for them to add to their respective tallies.

The race is a fairly open looking affair, Haraz is of interest in what looks an easier race than he has contested in a while and ran well last time under Luke Harvey in the Legends race at Doncaster,  its a race that is normally fairly decent for the grade as its often specifically targeted by connections, even if the nature of the jockeys can impact the result. Kitten’s Johnstown is of interest dropped in grade after a return to form on his first all weather run last time out and is lightly raced compared to many of these. Millie’s Kiss is another danger albeit her best form is over ten furlongs.
