Thoughts on Solent Meads at Kempton

Solent Meads runs in the  7.15 at Kempton this evening. George Downing is aboard as the pair bid to repeat their course and distance win two starts back in the mile handicap. They subsequently finished fourth in a course and distance handicap in this grade. That looked a strong race for the grade with winner doubling up a few days later and the third reconfirming the form by finishing in the same spot behind him.

The race looks an open affair, The Groove has been consistent in recent runs at this type of level and is nicely drawn. Waqt is lightly raced, ran his best race yet last time and steps up in trip which if bringing about further improvement should see him being competitive. Medicean Del Diablo is a bit more experienced although not heavily raced and has certainly been a force in this grade at seven furlongs. If he is able to show that sort of form over the extra furlong he is the horse they will have to beat.
