Thoughts on Solent Meads at Newcastle
Solent Meads runs in the 6:15 the 7 furlong Maiden Auction at Newcastle on Friday 28th October. Josephine Gordon rides the two year old gelding. He had a great introduction to racing last time out and did everything asked of him. Solent has been working nicely at home since and is showing that he learned plenty from his first run. He is a horse full of size and scope and next year he will be much stronger.
A race that is hard to analyse with a few horses making their debuts, and little form of note amongst that have run. Stevie Brown ran well secret me time out but disappointed last time. Crushed could be a potential improver after a reasonable debut over a mile at York, however on pedigree the drop in trip isn’t an obvious step.
