Thoughts on Southwold

One runner today (Friday 21st July), Southwold heads up to Haydock to line up the 2.05pm handicap for Apprentice jockey’s. Alex Jary takes the ride.

Southwold returns after a break, for what is the dual winners turf debut. The ground looks like it will be on the slow side which is a question mark at this stage. Alex Jary is amongst the more experienced riders in this Apprentice race which is a plus.

Tele Red is a danger, with one of the more experienced riders aboard, albeit he’s better over slightly further. Extinction is an intriguing handicap debutant having been raced over sprint trips in Novice’s since having hinted at ability over 7f on debut. Moai had smart form in France but hasn’t shown much for current connections. as a result this is the lowest level he has tried in Britain and cheekpieces are applied.

Southwold runs for owner breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook and will be led up by Epona Miller who cares for him daily at home.
