Thoughts on this evenings runners
Two runners at Wetherby this evening. Castelo kicks off proceedings in the 5.40 with Shane Gray in the saddle for the seven furlong novice. The filly made an encouraging debut over six furlongs behind the winner of this afternoon’s Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. Her next run is best ignored as she was drawn widest of all at Chelmsford and endured a horrible trip. With a smaller field tonight and a better draw she should be able to build on that encouraging debut with the extra furlong a bonus too.
Jungle Juice has done slightly more than the others on her debut but there isn’t much between several in this field.
Chizz de Biz is the second runner of the day in 8.55 a five and a half furlong handicap under Tony Hamilton. The filly looks to follow up her recent victory at Brighton. She has a slightly tough draw and the trip is as sharp as she would want it but it is her last chance to tackle this grade and it looked a good opportunity.
The field is a little deeper than the one that she beat at Brighton with Vallarta looking a danger.
