Thoughts on Today’s Runners

3 runners at Southwell to wrap up 2022. Glam Puss & Southwold both run in the 4.30 a one mile novice whilst Evening Story runs in the 5.00 a one mile nursery.

Southwold & Glam Puss

Southwold made a winning debut at Newcastle last month and is entitled to improve further for the experience. Tom Eaves who rode that day is once again in the saddle. Glam Puss looked raw on her debut over seven furlongs and in need of this step up in trip. That said she finished the race well to be second under Dylan Hogan and she will be sharper today.

Southwold winning under Tom Eaves at Newcastle

It’s never ideal running two horses in the same race but options are thin on the ground for both these horses at present. They work to a pretty similar level at home so deserve to take their chance in what looks a reasonable opportunity. Dubai Immo looks a danger. He has had quite a few chances, including when a very short price last time though. Muzaffar showed ability on his two starts at two but its been a long time since then. Heretic was poor last time, but did show ability on his second and couldn’t be discounted in this.

Glam Puss runs in the colours of owner breeder Vivienne O’Sullivan. She will be led up by James Pulley. Southwold runs for owner breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook he will be led up Shannon Passotti

Evening Story

Evening Story has improved with each start in novices and enters nursery company from a mark that gives her a chance. She should benefit from the extra furlong as steps up to a mile. The one negative would be the wide draw.

Crocodile Roll and Naoimi’s Charm both made encouraging starts to life in nursery’s on their respective last starts. They both looked as if the extra furlong today will see further improvement. Twilight Kiss is a bit more exposed but ran well in a higher grade mile nursery at Kempton last time and warrants respect.

Evening Story runs for owner breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook and will be led up by Epona Miller.
