Thoughts on today’s runners

We send two runners up to Haydock today (Saturday 29th April).

Raimunda

First up making her racecourse debut in the 3.15pm is Raimunda, David Egan takes the ride. The three year old filly is by American stallion Blame, but hails from a European family. She has done some nice work at home and will improve for her first racecourse appearance.

Raimunda

There is little form on show but last years winner of this, Nashwa went on to win the French Oaks and its usually a strong race. The well bred newcomer Lmay cost plenty at the sales and like Nashwa is trained by the Gosdens. Market Value is out of a Group 1 winner and showed some promise debut as did Stormy Sea who is a half sister to Champion Stakes winner Bay Bridge.

Raimunda runs for owner breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook and will be led up by Sammy Barnett who rides and cares for her daily at home.

Deceiver

After a very promising performance to win his novice last time out at Kempton, Deceiver makes his Handicap debut today in the 4.20pm with David Egan also taking the ride on him. He showed plenty of inexperience that day and should have learned a lot. The step up to a mile should be a positive and the likelihood of this handicap being more strongly run will help him.

Deceiver

A very open looking handicap with quite a few of these likely to be open to further progression at this early stage of their careers. However, the race fit Coco Jack does set a pretty solid standard to aim and has experience on his side. Animate has been gelded, and looked to be going very well when hanging away his chances on his final start at two.

Deceiver runs in the colours of owner Oakmere Homes and will be led up by James Pulley who cares for him daily at home.
