Thoughts on today’s runners

Three runners today (Thursday 27th July) with Lowick leading the way at Sandown in the 4.55pm ridden by Cieran Fallon. We then head to Yarmouth for the first Racing League fixture of the season where we saddle Helm Rock for the 7.00pm with Kieran Shoemark on board followed by Andaleep for the 8.30pm where Marco Ghiani takes the reins, both runners representing team ‘London & The South’.

Lowick

Lowick has not realy built on a promising first run, albeit there are some excuses for both of her runs since. The drop back to ten furlongs looks a positive, the switch to handicaps should make life easier too. She should enjoy some ease in the ground.

Lowick

An open looking race, Kaminaka knows how to win and has been in good form to date, this is a slight step up in class for her and the lightly races Showy and Loughville are interesting handicap debutants.

Lowick runs for owner breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook and will be led up today by Ilse Belien.

Helm Rock

Helm Rock drops back in trip, whilst his best form to date has been over a mile he often travels very well and the very good prize money on offer makes this worth giving a go. The softer the surface the more of a test it will be and the better his chances are likely to be.

Helm Rock

This looks a tight contest, Able Kane, Persuasion, Waiting All Night & Ramiro all come here in good heart. Adeb has to prove as effective on turf but is another that cannot be discounted.

Helm Rock runs for owners Capture The Moment VII and will be led up by Shannon Pasotti.

Andaleep

Andaleep put up a career best when winning last time out and was hit hard by the handicapper, whilst it’s great that he has improved more than two stone since joining the yard he does now need to compete at a higher level. That said for the prize money on offer this is not as strong a contest as it could be and given he’s in great form we’re hopeful of picking up a slice of it. He probably wouldn’t want it too soft.

Andaleep

The lightly raced Like A Tiger looks likely to make into a smart performer over this trip but takes on battle hardened rivals here. Cumulonimbus looks to have the strongest recent form, although that is over slightly further. Eagles Way was very progressive last year and the stables runners are normally ready to go off the back of long layoffs.

Owned by James Finch, Andaleep will be led up by Shannon Pasotti who rides and cares for him daily at home.
