Thoughts on today’s runners – NON RUNNERS (GOING)

Two runners at Brighton today to start the week off. Lowick runs in the 3.05pm handicap for Apprentice Jockey’s under Adam Farragher followed by Moondial in the 4.45pm with Jim Crowley back in the saddle.

Lowick

Lowick definitely prefers a faster surface so the less rain the better. She’s shown bits of ability and has dropped to a realistic level. She ran OK at Goodwood despite being a big long striding filly which gives us hope she’ll handle the track.

Lowick

A bunch of fairly modest handicappers ridden by apprentices makes this a bit of a lottery. Decisive Call stepping up in trip for a new yard looks a likely improver, while previous winner of this race for the same yard Platinum Prince is another of the more likely contenders.

Lowick runs in the colours of owner and breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. She will be led up today by Natalie Jankiewicz.

Moondial

Moondial has been really consistent all season winnng twice and being in the money on all her starts. She was second over course and distance last week and should go well again today. She prefers a faster surface so hopefully the rain stays away.

Moondial

In theory this is a slight drop in grade from the 0-65 she ran in last week. The consistent veterans Iconic Knight and Evasive Power look the ones to beat. Miss Sarajevo seemingly put up a much better peformance than she had for a long time last time out and if able to repeat that is a threat.

Moondial runs in the colours of syndicate owners Diskovery Partnership X. The filly will be led up by Natalie Jankiewicz who cares for her daily at home.
