Thoughts on today’s runners
We send out two runners today, Lowick lines up at Southwell for the 4.15pm contest under Richard Kingscote followed by Moondial shortly after in the 4.40pm race at Brighton with Luke Morris on board.
Lowick
Lowick travelled really well on the tapeta surface at Newcastle last time but didn’t see the race out. The drop back looks likely to help based on that performance, albeit stride patterns and pedigree suggest otherwise! We’ve added a tongue tie to dot all the I’s and cross the T’s!
Probably a race where the dangers come from the in form horses. Meng Tien, Amathus and Premiership.
Lowick runs in the colours of owner and breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook and will be led up today by Sammy Barnett.
Moondial
Moondial has had a cracking season for the Diskovery Partnersip winning twice and being placed on all of her starts. Her very best form is on quick turf so we’ve opted to step her up to a mile as there are limited options over 7f for her on the grass. However, she needs to prove she stays as she came up a bit short earlier in the season but has strengthened as the years gone on so fingers crossed.
Style of Life looks the obvious danger having won on handicap debut last time. Harry the Haggler will be there abouts, but the race he won last time wasn’t that strong.
Moondial runs for the Diskovery syndicate and will be led up by Natalie Jankiewicz who cares for her at home.
