Thoughts on today’s runners

Two runners today at Kempton. Silver Leaf is first up in the 2.00pm contest, a Novice for Fillies only with Luke Morris in the saddle. Next up is Andaleep in the 4.00pm contest, the Racing TV London middle distance series final. Richard Kingscote takes the ride.

Silver Leaf

Silver Leaf made a bright start to her career when winining on debut. Whilst that wasn’t the strongest race she did very well. She was still pretty raw and will have learned plenty, she should take another step forward here today.

Silver Leaf

This is a much deeper race featuring several last time out winners, albeit most have not raced for quite some time so fitness is taken slightly on trust. English Rose won the strongest looking race. Twirling is another who warrants respect whilst Throubi and Shiva Shakti have also shown promise and return after long lay off’s.

Silver Leaf runs in the colours of owner and breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. She will be led up by Shannon Pasotti.

Andaleep

This is a valuable final with plenty of prize money on offer. Andaleep ran a much better race than the result might show when sixth in a qualifier, ending up right at the back in a race dictated from the front by an impressive winner. This has been his target for a while now and he’s been given a chance by the handicapper.

Andaleep

This will be competitive but if Max Mayhem turns up near his best after 86 days off since running down the field at the Shergar Cup, his excellent course and distance record suggests he’ll be hard to beat. Graines who has been consistent this summer is probably next best.

Andaleep runs for owner James Finch and will be led up by Shannon Pasotti who rides and cares for him daily at home.
