Thoughts on today’s runners
An exciting day today with three runners, the first of those being Astro King in Bahrain (See seperate post). Closer to home we head over to Wolverhampton where La Verite runs in the 5.30pm Fillies Novice contest, followed by Al Rufaa in the 7.30pm Handicap. Dylan Hogan takes the ride on both.
La Verite
La Verite ran a nice race on debut, she was tapped for toe when the race quickened up and should have learned a bit.
A race that looks a bit of a one sided contest and highlights the problems with the Novice system, Timeless Charm looks miles ahead of the rest.
La Verite runs for owner Newclose and will be led up by Shannon Pasotti.
Al Rufaa
We’re still learning about Al Rufaa, he strikes us as a horse who could stay a bit further but does need to settle. He settled well enough over 7f last time at Kempton that with all the bends an extended mile at Wolverhampton should be fine.
Power of Darkness probably sets the standard in recent form, with Flatley not too far behind. Whilst Night Arc’s best runs give him every chance – he did have a shocker last time. Supreme King is really interesting as this test should be perfect for him and he put up a nice effort first time out for new connections last time.
Al Rufaa runs for owners Carture, Lofthouse & Capture The Moment. He will also be led up by Shannon Pasotti.
