Thoughts on Today’s Runners

Passing Star, 6:50 Wolverhampton, George Downing

Passing Star runs in a six furlong handicap, once again he has had no luck with the draw so he is going to need a bit of a luck in running.

In terms of the opposition its a close knit field and nearly anything would have half a chance. The three year olds Cappananty Con and Kamra both take a drop in grade and are well drawn and would look amongst the most likely winners.

Mutineer, 9:00 Wolverhampton, George Downing

Mutineer runs in a one mile and half a furlong maiden handicap. He seems at his best on all weather surfaces and is becoming more sensible about the race day experience as a whole. He does, however, need to start showing what he shows at home in his races at this stage of his career. He ran respectably enough last time out in a similar race, just running out of gas in final furlong after cutting out much of the running.

Again this looks like a race where quite a few would hold a chance. Art's Desire brings the best form into the race but has a tough to draw to overcome as does Lord Kitten who ran well enough on handicap debut to pose a threat here. Better drawn is Feel the Vibes who finished in front of Mutineer last time out.
