Thoughts on Today’s runners
Flooded, Ffos Las 3:45 – Paddy Bradley
Flooded is quite highly strung and had a couple of issues on his first two visits to the races but a lot of hard work saw him at least get a couple of runs into him. He was then mowed down by a loose horse on the way to the start a fortnight ago so really has had no luck. Realistically he is going to need real staying trips and he wants to show enough today to get a handicap mark if he is to be worth continuing with. Paddy Bradley has replaced Jordan Uys
The race looks at the mercy of the 79 rated Hawridge Flyer who should handle the conditions. His biggest rival looks set to be the useful jumper Still Believing who’s stamina should give him a chance in these conditions on his flat debut at the age of nine.
Nuncio, Ffos Las 5:15 – George Downing
Nuncio has put together a string of decent placed efforts in maidens and now switches into handicaps for the first time since joining us. We aren’t convinced that he will handle such heavy conditions but Fran Berry was happy with how he handled soft on his most recent start and with a couple of non-runners we’ll roll the dice and hope for the best in what is now just a six runner field.
Lucky Louie looks to set the standard and has soft ground form. There has to be a slight question as to whether the trip is a bit too far and it will be a test on this ground. Once again the next best might well be a jumper coming back to the flat in the form of Prussian Eagle, however his flat from previously was over much further so he may well not be quick enough.
