Thoughts on today’s runners

Mutineer 2.20 Salisbury, Eddie Greatrex

We have three runners today and start proceedings at Salisbury with Mutineer who is seeking his hat-trick after a quick fire double last week. He takes a very slight climb in grade and switches back to turf for the mile handicap. Turf should be no trouble and he can be forgiven a couple of weaker efforts earlier on this year when things didn’t really fall right and seven furlongs was probably a bit too sharp. He is well drawn and Eddie takes off three pounds of his welter burden.

Pick A Little looks to pose the biggest threat he has proven ability at this level and ran a great race last week at Brighton and Masquerade Bling has been going close and is another danger here.

Passing Star 2.50 Salisbury, George Downing

Passing Star is an old boy who has a bit of versatility in terms of trip and is probably due a bit of luck in running as he seems to love coming from behind but has encountered some modestly run races from very wide draws recently. He goes in the one mile handicap. He won over six furlongs for us earlier in the year and ran well enough at this track over six furlongs but historically his best form has been over seven furlongs and a mile so hopefully they go a strong gallop and the race works out better for him today.

Its a much tougher division than the division that Mutineer runs in with last time out winners, Suitsus, Fair Selene and Red Dragon all likely to go well again.

Changing 5:15 Chepstow, George Downing

Changing was very green on her debut at Newbury and didn’t really show a lot. Hopefully she will be a bit more grown up about things today and get involved in the race. The trip of seven furlongs and the good to soft going should all be suitable for her.

Great Vizier should have learned plenty on his debut and looked the type to progress to win something like this and should be able to overcome the more experienced Neverbeen to Paris. Shepherd Market is another who should go well after an encouraging debut.
