Thoughts on todays runners

Karnage starts proceeding in the 5.30 at Doncaster today (Friday 23rd October). Ross Birkett an accomplished amateur takes a ride in the ten furlong handicap. This is Karnage’s first start in a handicap and also his first since being gelded. A big horse he had little break after being a bit disappointing in his final maiden start and has been gelded. The step up should suit although the ground is a bit of an unknown. The race looks quite open as these amateur races often are. Gone Viral looks the main danger with the leading rider in this sphere booked.

Trimoulet is next up in the 6.50 at Wolverhampton. Tom Queally rides in the mile and half handicap. An experiment over further didn’t work out but Trimoulet was an impressive winner over this trip when last running over it at the track. This is a tougher race and the draw in 12 of 12 not ideal. Again a very competitive race Cottesloe looks a big danger and Devon Drum has been similarly matched to Trimoulet on a previous encounter.

Mandria goes in the 8.50 at Wolverhampton. On a retrival mission after refusing to race last time out in the extended nine furlong handicap. Timmy Murphy rides the filly who has subsequently done some work with stalls expert Gary Witheford. All went well at home but we’ll only really know come race time. If she consents to race The Way You Dance looks the one to beat.
