Thoughts on today’s runners

Two runners today. Silently heads to Ffos Las for the 4:40. Charles Bishop takes the ride in the five furlong handicap. The filly made an encouraging return to action at Chepstow and plenty of pace before tiring late on. She has come forward for that run and should be competitive in this company.

Silently takes on Molly Jones won the Chepstow race and has been in good form since, picking up another race and two more placed efforts. However Ellen Gates brings the strongest form to the table with a string of runners up efforts, she has tended to avoid fast ground so far in her career, although its not clear wether this is by design or co-incidence.

Nyala goes to Nottingham for the 8:00. Robert Winston will be in the saddle for the mile handicap. Nyala has improved with each start so far in her career and was only just stretched on her first attempt at ten furlongs last time, having travelled particularly well. Dropping back in trip made sense on the basis of that run but as she continues to strengthen she may well be able stay ten furlongs in due course.

Nyala probably has the most consistent form of the runners in the race, Seaborough is a danger dropping back in trip whilst Turquoise Bay and Mischievous Rock are interesting stepping up in distance, the latter definitely took a clear step forward on his last start.
