Thoughts on today’s runners
Two runners for today (Tuesday 4th of September). First up is Chizz de Biz who runs in the 4:55 at Leicester. John Fahy is in the saddle for the seven furlong handicap. The filly made a great start to the season but has gone backwards since. We’ve totally changed her routine at home and are hopeful of a better effort today. A return to her early season form will see her very competitive here.
The race is very open with 17 runners and a bit of luck is probably required. Popsicle looked good winning last time out and is an obvious contender. Freebe Rocks is dropping in grade and could get more involved than on more recent starts, whilst Herringswell Manor has won at this level and ran a solid third last time.
Chitra is our second runner in the 5:45 at Kempton. Rob Winston will ride in the six furlong nursery. The filly returns to action having been given a bit of time to develop and is a stronger filly for it. She ran well enough on her debut on the all weather. She pulled muscles on her second start and travelled well before fading late on over seven furlongs at Chester. The trip should suit better tonight and it is only her wide draw that tempers enthusiasm for an improved placing.
The draw and as result could play a critical role in this race as the three most obvious form chances are drawn 7, 8 and 9. Rajman, Amazing Fox and Devils Roc have all got solid packed efforts on the board in nurseries. Of those a bit less exposed Gregorian Girl has improved with each run and is better drawn than the principals.
