Thoughts on today’s runners

Two runners today, Thursday November 19th. Alaskan Phantom is first up in the 13.40 at Lingfield. Pat Cosgrave rides the talented but frustrating filly as she steps up to a mile in this maiden. She has not built on a very promising  debut earlier in the year and we are hoping that this step up in trip is the answer. There are some well bred newcomers and it would be no surprise for one of them to be up to winning this. Apart from Bretoncelles the rest would have to build quite a bit on their previous starts.

Chica Rapida is the second runner of the day at Chelmsford in the 1910. She has improved with each start and Adam Kirby takes the ride in the mile handicap. She was more focused in blinkers on handicap debut last time and can be forgiven a little for sitting too close to a hot pace for not finding quite as much as hoped at the end of the race. Thermal Column ran well in a similar race on Saturday and looks the horse to beat if handling the quick turn around.
