Thoughts on Today’s Runners
3 Runners at Kempton this evening.
First up is Tappity Tap in the 7:15 mile maiden ridden by John Fahy. The big scopey filly is making her debut. She wears a hood.
Panmolle has been runner up on both her starts and looks the most likely winner, Simple Thoughts has several placed efforts but never quite looked like winning so Yimou, runner up on his sole start is maybe a more challenger.
At 7:45 Outrage goes in a six furlong contest looking to follow up his seventh and most recent win at Newcastle. George Downing is on board and looks to add to his tally of two wins aboard Outrage. He is yet to win over six but has several decent efforts including here to his name. The pace scenario looks to be in his favour and if he gets the luck he needs as a hold up horse he should be competitive again.
Exchequer arrives in good form but has done most his winning over seven furlongs. Helvetian has some very decent efforts to his name and didn’t really have things go his way of late and has a decent draw and rates a danger this evening.
Sploosh rounds out the evening in the 8:45. George Downing is aboard for the 11 furlongs three year old handicap. His last run is best ignored as he scoped poorly post race and we’ll be looking at him to step up in form from his mildly encouraging novice and maiden form.
Your Band won nicely on handicap debut in a similar contest and the rise in the weights shouldn’t be a problem. He had subsequent winner Zarrar in behind but one suspects that the biggest dangers in a race like this could come from a more lightly raced type.
