Thoughts on Today’s Runners

Sarsen Farm sends out two runners thevening. First up is Castelo at Kempton Park Racecourse. The filly runs at 4.40pm in the 7f handicap with Jason Watson in the irons. She has drawn wide in stall 12 which makes life tricky. Castelo had a life threatening injury when turned out in a paddock on her winter break last year and there has been a lot of team work from our vets and patient team at home to nurse her back to health. She is ready to race, but will come on for the run.

This looks to be a fairly open race, several runners have good recent form at this level, recent course and distance winner Cauthen should be close again. Silverturnstogold is sporting blinkers for the first time after a string of consistent efforts and a small improvement would probably be enough to win this. Mister Freeze, Maid Millie and Harry Beau are all in good form and should be competitive.

Castelo is owned by the Diskovery Partnership V. She is by Casamento, out of Fortress and was bred by Lynn Lodge Stud. She will be led up by James Pulley. There are currently shares available in an exciting new filly to race for the Diskovery Partnership

Next up is Chamomile who heads to Wolverhampton Racecourse for the 8.25pm nine and a half furlong handicap. Kieran Shoemark is in the irons. The filly has a good draw in stall 1, she won impressively over this distance last time out and has had a clean run after missing an intended run three weeks ago with a high temperature.

Vipin and Pike Corner Cross look her biggest rivals with solid recent form at this level. Archdeacon was an impressive winner when last seen in May, but hadn’t shown a lot of form prior to that.

Chamomile was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock and is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. She is by Teofilo, out of Al Joza. Chamomile will be led up by Andy Williams, who rides her at home a lot, and overseen by Shaun Johnson.
