Thoughts on Today’s Runners

It’s really exciting to be back racing, we are hitting the ground running sending two runners this afternoon at Kempton Park Racecourse.

Bowland Park runs in the 2.45 six furlong Maiden Stakes and Adam McNamara is in the irons. The colt is drawn in stall 1. He is a two year old by first season sire, New Bay. He is out Distinctive who was a quick two year old winning the 6 furlong Group 3 Firth of Clyde Stakes. She did stay a mile at three and was fifth in the Guineas.

The two year contests in the first few days of racing are going to be strong races, and we will find out if he has genuine Royal Ascot pretensions where the Chesham over seven furlongs would be his target.

The excitement is building before the race and there are whispers and rumours abound for several horses here. It will be a race worth following in the coming weeks as there are likely to be several future winners come from the field.

Bowland Park is owned and was bred by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. He will be led up by Lauren Webb, and overseen by travelling manager Shaun Johnson.

Our second runner of the day is three year old Salsa Dip who will race for the Capture The Moment Partnership in the 3.20 Maiden Stakes. David Egan will be taking the reins and the gelding is drawn wide in stall 12. Salsa Dip has been ready to run for a while and will be better over further in due course but this should get his career started and give him some experience. He will provide his owners plenty of fun later on this summer and we are really looking forward to getting going with him. There is one 25% share available in him still.

Salsa Dip is by Camacho out of the Benny the Dip mare Baltic Dip. She was useful over 6-7 furlong and finished 4th and 5th in several listed races. Watching his homework, genetic testing and stride analysis lead us to believe that this fun horse will outstay his parents.

Salsa Dip races for the Capture The Moment partnership and will be led up by James Pulley, overseen by travelling manager Shaun Johnson.
