Thoughts on Today’s Runners

Two runners this afternoon.

First up is stable stalwart Outrage in the 12:30 at Newmarket. The gelding is partnered with Richard Kingscote for the five furlong sprint and the pair are drawn in stall 7. The pair have been victorious together before in a similar grade and Outrage still has shown he retains plenty of enthusiasm for racing and since his return to action, and the race didn’t really pan out for him last time around.

Outrage takes on a few old rivals and there wouldn’t be much between most of these, he was ahead of Line of Reason last time but behind Blue De Vega. Hans Solos Berger has some good runs at the track but is arguably better when there is some ease in the ground, and he was beaten fair and square by Line of Reason a couple of starts back. Ginger Jam is brings in some different form lines but is another that should be in the mix.

Outrage is by Exceed and Excel, out of the Cadeaux Genereux mare, Ludynosa. Today he will be led up by Alice Roberts and overseen by Shaun Johnson. Outrage races for Capture The Moment, an exclusive partnership personally managed by Daniel and Claire. Bowland Park is our second runner today at Ascot. The two year old colt runs in the 1.50pm seven furlong listed race. Adam McNamara is in the saddle and the pair are drawn in stall 2. After an impressive maiden win at Chepstow just earlier this month, Bowland Park has earned an attempt in this sort of grade.

It is an intriguing contest with several good last time out maiden winners taking on a couple of proven group performers in Saint Lawrence and Saeiqa. However Tawasol looked good when winning the Woodcote Stakes and may be the one to beat.

Bowland Park is by first season sire New Bay, out of the Toboug mare, Distinctive. The colt was bred and is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. He will be led up by Billie Portwin and overseen by Daniel and Claire.
