Thoughts on Today’s Runners
Sarsen Farm sends out two runners this afternoon. First up is Chitra in the 4.50 at Lingfield Park. Richard Kingscote takes the ride in the five furlong handicap sprint and they are drawn in stall 10. Chitra is returning from a short break. She loves the track, and is a dual course and distance winner but the draw makes things tricky.
Chitra is owned and was bred by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. The filly is by Sea The Moon, out of the Shamardal mare, Persian Star. She will be led up by James Pulley, and overseen by travelling manager, Shaun Johnson who rides the filly regularly at home.
Our second runner of the day is River Sprite in the 8.30 at Chelmsford City. Adam McNamara is in the irons for the one mile handicap. They are drawn in stall 13. River Sprite bids to add to her recent win on first go over a mile but has a terrible draw.
River Sprite races for the Diskovery Partnership, and for owner breeder Fiona Denniff, who retained a share in the filly when she was purchased privately. River Sprite is by Swiss Spirit, out of the Forest Camp mare, Camp Riverside. She will be led up by Ilse Belien.
