Thoughts on Today’s Runners
Two runners today (Sunday 25th April). First up is Dream Design in the 3.10pm at Wetherby. Richard Kingscote is in the irons for the seven furlong novice stakes. They are drawn in stall 6. The filly was very green on her debut and ultimately showed very little, she has shown more than that at home and should come forward for the racecourse experience.
Ametist although coming off a long lay off looks the horse to beat following a comfotrable win on his second start. The well bred pair Miquelon and Shuthoor who are casts from big operations may be the biggest dangers.
Dream Design is by Invincible Spirit, out of the Tobougg mare, Distinctive. She is owned by and was bred by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. She will be led up by Ilse Belien and overseen by Travelling Manager, Shaun Johnson.
Our second runner of the day is Sognatore in the 4.00 at Salisbury. Adam McNamara is on board for the mile and a quarter handicap and they are drawn in stall 8. Sognatore wears a hood once again. He was not ideally placed in a slowly run race at Nottingham last time out but finished the race well and with a better trip should be able to be competitive.
A typically open looking handicap for three year olds This Ones For Fred ran his best race yet when tackling a mile and quarter for the first time last weekend against Sognatore, but the likes of La Forza, Charming Paradise and The Vegas Raider may all take big steps forward here.
This Ones For Fred is now a non-runner.
Sognatore is owned by Crowd Racing and Capture The Moment, a syndicate ran by Daniel and Claire. He will be led up by Epona Miller and overseen by yard manager, Lauren Webb.
We still have a few shares remaining in the Diskovery Syndicate filly for this year with a top class pedigree. She is by Havana Gold, and looks to be a two year old runner.
