Thoughts on Today’s Runners

Two runners this afternoon. First up is Don’t Tell Claire in the 5.15pm at Carlisle. James Sullivan takes the ride in the seven furlong handicap. The pair are drawn in stall 3. Don’t Tell Claire probably ran better than her result on her two starts this season, and should find the switch to filly only company in her favour.

Don’t Tell Claire is owned by Andrew Stonehill and will be led up today by Jade Kent. She is by Guitaifan, out of the Mount Nelson mare, Avenbury.

Our second runner of the day is Spoonful Of Sugar in the 6.20 at Bath. Tom Queally is in the irons for the five furlong sprint and the pair are drawn in stall 4. This filly’s future probably lies in nurseries, and she will qualify after this run. Spoonful Of Sugar is a sweet filly who will give her owners plenty of fun in due course.

Spoonful Of Sugar races for Simon Hope and Stephen Barrow. She is by Exceed and Excel, out of the Henrythenavigator mare, Sagres. Today she will be led up by Ilse Belien and overseen by travelling manager Shaun Johnson.
