Thoughts on Today’s Runners

Sarsen Farm sends out 3 runners today. First up is From Little Acorns in the 1.00 at Newbury. Sean Levey is in the irons for the seven furlong novice stakes. The pair are drawn in stall 11. The colt should have learned from his debut, but this looks a high quality race and From Little Acorns will again benefit from the experience.

From Little Acorns is by Postponed, out of the Exceed and Excel mare, Rue Cambon. He is owned by Oakmere Racing and will be led up by Alice Roberts, and overseen by Shaun Johnson.

The second runner of the day is Seneca Chief in the 3.00 at Haydock. Jim Crowley is aboard the gelding for the six furlong handicap. The pair are drawn in stall 7. Seneca Chief lost a shoe last time and ran no sort of race, however a match of his seasonal reappearance at Sandown should see him involved as he steps up in trip. He hasn’t managed to see six furlongs out before but is much more relaxed in his races these days.

Seneca Chief

Seneca Chief is by Invincible Spirit, out of the Namid mare, Albertine Rose. He was bred and is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. He will be led up by Michael Coles.

The final runner of the day at Haydock is Abbey Heights in the 4.42. Rossa Ryan is on board the three year old colt. Abbey Heights makes his debut in the seven furlong maiden stakes and he is drawn in stall six. A strong colt who has shown ability at home as long as he has enough street smarts about him on debut he should run a nice race.

Abbey Heights under regular rider, Lauren Webb

Abbey Heights is by Dark Angel, out of the Exceed and Excel mare, Ducissa. He was bred and is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. He will be led up by Michael Coles who also looks after him at home.
