Thoughts on today’s runners
Two runners today, (Tuesday 19th April) both head to Yarmouth. Lil Guff runs in the 5.10 followed by Outrage in the 5.40. Both horses will be ridden by Richard Kingscote.
Lil Guff
Lil Guff runs in the 6f handicap. The filly was very consistent last season, winning twice with several placed efforts too. She handles most ground and ran well at the track on her debut, “winning” her side. She should be ready to roll and we are hopeful she can continue to progress this season.
A case could probably be made for most of the horses in this field. Four out of the eight runners making a seasonal reappearances this is a tricky race to weigh up.
Lil Guff runs in the colours of Wayne Clifford, the filly was bred and raised at Byerley Stud. She will be led up by Epona Miller who rides and cares for her at home.
Outrage
Outrage runs in the 5 furlong handicap. His best form has always been on the all weather. Outrage is now racing from a very competitive mark on the turf. He has won over course and distance in the past and this looked worth a go after some solid recent efforts.
Silver Dollar remains unbeaten in handicaps and looks the horse to beat. He does need to prove he can drop back to five. Dark Side Prince is always dangerous at this sort of level of race. Mehmo finished last season with a career best at Nottingham. That form would make him competitive here if he is able to reproduce that on a first start for new connections.
Outrage runs for the Capture The Moment & Crowd Racing syndicate and will be led up by Charlotte Wright. Travelling manager, Shaun Johnson will oversee both horses.
