Thoughts on today’s runners
We send out two runners today, both at Kempton. Moondial runs in the 5.30pm followed by Helm Rock in the 7.00pm.
Moondial
This lovely 2 year old filly is making her racecourse debut today in the Novice Fillies over 5f. Hollie Doyle is in the saddle. Moondial has been very professional in her homework and is ready to get some experience. She will improve over six furlongs when those races start.
Beautfiul Eyes won on debut and is very much the horse to beat. Only two others have run and they have quite a bit to find with her.
Moondial will be running for her owners Diskovery Partnership X and will be led up by Epona Miller who cares for her at home daily.
Helm Rock
Helm Rock made an encouraging return to the track last month and runs in the 7f Handicap today under Richard Kingscote. He should come forward for that run. This is his first run on polytrack, his best form is on easier turf but he should be fine on the all weather surface. The drop back to seven furlongs should not be an issue.
The lightly raced Substantial looks well treated on some of his form as he enters handicap company but faces battle hardened rivals here. Follow Your Heart, Got No Dollars and Thapa VC all have solid form at this level over course and distance.
Helm Rock runs for Capture the Moment and will be led up by James Pulley who cares for him at home.
