Thoughts on today’s runners
After a quiet weekend we have two runners today (Tuesday 5th July). Percy’s Lad runs in the 7.20pm at Ffos Las followed by Ellen Clacy in the 7.40pm at Brighton.
Percy’s Lad
Percy lines up in a 7f handicap with his usual partner Richard Kingscote on board. The hurly burly of the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot probably didn’t really suit him last time out and this smaller field should play more to his strengths.

A interesting contest as Space Tracker and Red Mirage bid for hat tricks. The latter has just had two starts but will have to show what he is made of tackling experienced handicappers for the first time. Red Mirage has found his feet since being gelded and won a decent contest last time out. Able Kane is another who can’t be discounted in what looks a decent race.
Percy’s Lad runs in owners Alan Kerr’s colours, he was a horses in training purchase by Daniel & Claire together with Sam Haggas of Hurworht Bloodstock. They will be attending the July Sales in Newwmarket this week looking for similar prospects. Get in touch if you are interested by ringing Daniel on 07984 287254. He will be led up by Sammy Barnett.
Ellen Clacy
Ellen Clacy hasn’t really shone on the racecourse and whilst her last start represented a step in the right direction she will have to take another big one today in what is a fairly ordinary race. She seemed happy on the track last time out with today’s jockey William Carson on board.

Not much to separate Arlo’s Sunshine, Arpina and The Charmer who all have recent enough decent runs at this sort of level.
Ellen Clacy will be led up by Ilse Belien who cares for her at home. She runs in the colours of owners Diskovery Partnership IX.
