Thoughts on today’s runners
Bowland Park & Helm Rock will hopefully get the week off to a good start at Carlisle this evening (Monday 1st of August). The meeting is restricted to female jockeys and its great that Nicola Currie takes both rides.
Bowland Park
Bowland Park lines up at 7.45pm a mile handicap. The four year old gelding has run some solid races in defeat at higher grades this season. He had an impossible task from a poor position last time out, a race in which Liberation Point who re-opposes was second. Hopefully he can turn the tables this evening.

The afore mentioned Liberation Point looks the one to beat. Detective has an excellent course record and is another one to be wary of.
Bowland Park runs for owners and breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook, he will be led up by Shannon Pasotti who cares for him daily at home.
Helm Rock
Helm Rock is next up at 8.15pm. The gelding is two from two at the course, he steps up to nine furlongs for the first time this season. He was finished strongly over a mile last time and deserves a win after a really consistent season so far. Any further rain would be a plus for him.

Quite an open looking race, Where’s Jeff looks the obvious danger. Poet’s Dawn shouldn’t be too far away. Limited Edition is an interesting contender and has form that ties in very closely with Helm Rock. Havana Party is another who can get into the picture.
Helm Rock runs in the colours of owners Capture The Moment VII and will be led up by James Pulley who cares for him daily at home.
