Thoughts on today’s runners
Two runners today (Monday 29th August). Aira Force runs in a 5 furlongs Novice Fillies race at Southwell at 1.35pm. Zulu Girl runs in a mile handicap at Epsom at 5.00pm.
Aira Force
Aira Force will be partnered by Rossa Ryan. The filly was hampered at the start last time. This left her in a trick position last time out at Lingfield but finished the race off to good effect. Hopefully that won’t be an issue over the straight five here and the stiffer test should be a plus too.
Eternal Class looks like the horse to beat here after a good performance on debut. Marine Wave should step up on an encouraging first run but it would need to be by a fair amount to catch the favourite.
Aira Force runs in the colours of owner breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook and will be led up by Natalie Jankiewicz.
Zulu Girl
Zulu Girl will be partnered by Jim Crowley at Epsom. She has not been consistent this season, the slight ease in grade should be plus here. The tricky track should suit her as she has won three times at Brighton which would have similar undulations and cambers.
This is a wide open race and Intercessor who brings excellent course and distance form is an obvious starting point. This is a deeper race than what he has been winning. Roman Dynasty looking a danger if seeing out the mile.
Zulu Girl runs for owners Trish and Colin Fletcher-Hall and will be led up by Ilse Belien who cares for her daily at home.
