Thoughts on today’s runners
We start the week off with three runners at three different meetings today (Monday 12th September).
Eminent Angel
Eminent Angel has travelled up to Thirsk and runs in an Apprentice race at 1.40pm, Pierre-Louis Jamin has his first ride for the yard and he is one of the more experienced jockey’s in the race. It is a wide open race with a big field and typically you do need a bit of luck in these Apprentice races.
She’s a filly who should improve for going over this longer trip and the softer ground should be no problem for her so we are looking forward to seeing how she gets on.
Eminent Angel runs in the colours of owner and breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook and will be led up by Epona Miller.
Promotion
Promotion is next up at Brighton in the 3.00pm race, also a handicap for Apprentice jockey’s, William Carver takes the ride. It is a big field which he hasn’t yet encountered very often, he should handle that fine however the softer going is an unknown for him. His sire generally shows a preference for softer ground but Promotion is quite a light footed horse and not the biggest so there is a slight question mark on that front. He has been unlucky not to win a race having been a close second a couple of times now but this does look a pretty competitive heat and he will need some luck as things are never quite straight forward in Apprentice races.
Promotion runs for owners J Lukas, T Aspinall & Partners. He will be led up by Ilse Belien.
Aira Force
Aira Force runs at Kempton in a Nursery handicap at 5.30pm with Richard Kingscote in the saddle. She has progressed with each start and this drop in to handicap company should suit her. She finished strongly over 5f last time so the step up to 6f is definitely a plus. It is slightly unfortunate that she has such a wide draw but hopefully she can overcome this.
Aira Force runs for owner and breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook and will be led up by Natalie Jankiewicz who rides her daily at home.
