Thoughts on today’s runners

Today’s runners are both at Leicester, Richard Kingscote will partner both Aira Force and Elterwater.

Aira Force

Aira Force lines up in a 6 nursery at 1.25pm. The daughter of Oasis Dream has progressed with each start. She was a good second last time in a similar race at Kempton. Another step forward would give her a good chance here. This is a big field and her draw in the middle of the pack could have been better, but it also could have been worse.

Aira Force

This has the makings of a competitive race. There are quite a few here making their nursery debuts having run well enough in novice company to suggest they have a level of ability. Elongate is perhaps the most obvious example. Of those with handicap form Granny B looks to have the most solid claims. The Twilight Lady needs to show she is as good on this better ground. Her very best run came on soft.

Aira Force runs for owners Gary & Lesley Middlebrook. The filly will be led up by Tamsin Karn who cares for her daily at home.

Elterwater

Elterwater runs at 2.00pm, in a 7 furlong nursery. The filly has shown plenty of ability at home and now needs to translate that to the track. Ultimately she will progress as a three year old but we would hope she can win at two. She will get further in due course but didn’t look quite strong enough over a mile last time out so drops back to seven. She has a nice draw in 2.

Elterwater

River Usk and Menalippe are closely matched and would appear to set the standard. However, Love Fifteen has gradually been progressing and looks to have a fair bit in her favour today and might come out ahead of that pair. Of the handicap debutants, Oriental Dancer has an interesting pedigree and has run in some decent looking maidens and might well progress here.

Elterwater also runs in the colours of owner and breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook and will be led up by Sammy Barnett who cares for her daily at home.
