Thoughts on today’s runners – Monday

Two runners at Epsom today, Crimson Spirit is first up at 2.30pm in the seven furlong novice. Bowland Park follows at 4.50pm in the extended mile handicap. Richard Kingscote rides both horses.

Crimson Spirit

Crimson Spirit showed he had learned plenty from his first racecourse experience to put up a much better performance at Nottingham on his second run. He finished fourth in a race that looks to be working out well. That was a valuable novice worth £30,000 as is this race today, both sponsored by Juddmonte. He steps up a furlong today which should be ok. The track is always a bit of question especially with a young horse but he’s well balanced so we’re hopeful. He looks to have progressed a bit further at home too.

Get Jiggy With It has strong filly form and looks the horse to beat. She ran well at Goodwood so should handle Epsom, the rest are all still open to improvement.

Crimson Spirit runs for Innovate Racing and will be led up by Shannon Pasotti. Innovate Racing is a syndicate of 8 shareholders run by Daniel & Claire. They will be purchasing more horses in the coming weeks for further syndicates so do get in touch if you’d be interested. Each owner has a 12.5% of a horse. Bowland Park

Bowland Park has excellent course and distance form. He was a winner at Epsom as a three year old he was also 6th of 15 in a valuable Class 2 Handicap on Oaks Day last season. The gelding has been placed on both his runs this season and is coming well into himself to and drops in grade.

If Bowland Park runs up to near his best he should go well here. Kimifive & Desfondada have decent course form. The outsider of the field Dutch Kingdom shouldn’t be discounted as he has had a couple of excuses and this test might suit him.
